Dengue Awareness 2nd Walk
Background:
Dengue has become a severe hazard for all society now a
days. Dengue fever produces by biting female mosquito (Aedes
Aegypti) to human being. Female mosquito take blood from one
dengue fever patient and it transfer this blood to another
healthy person. Dengue virus remains in human body from two
to seven days and during this person feel fever condition.
It effect more to children of less then 15 years and if
patients did not treat properly then death ration can
increase to more then 20 %. Any way due to precautions the
death ration can be reduced to 1 %.
Objective of Awareness Walk:
Ø To create awareness on severe hazard of Dengue in Chakwal
Ø To ensure protection of human being from Dengue
Ø To promote importance of health & hygiene in society
Ø To promote participatory hygiene promotion practices in
society
Participants:
Mr. Kausar Bilal Deputy District Officer Social Welfare &
Bait ul maal, Dr. Aleem Danish District Health Officer, Mr.
Muhammad Sabir Principal Fatima Jinnah Public School, Mr.
Muhammad Shahzad Rahnuma-FPAP (NGO), Mr. Naveed Yousaf RASTI
(NGO), Miss Saima Najaf MIED (NGO), Mr. Atif Abbas, Mr. Asim
Shahzad, Mr. Muhammad Adnan, Mr. Usman Zafar, Mr. Shahzad
Ali DEAP (NGO), Students of Kids School System, Fatima Jinah
Public School and Govt. Post Graduate College Chakwal.
Proceedings:
DEAP team organized dengue awareness walk at Chakwal. All
Govt. officials, representatives of NGOs and civil
societies, school children and youth were invited in this
walk. Children of Kids School System, Fatima Public School
and college students reached timely at venue of awareness
walk. Mr Atif Abbas Chief Executive of DEAP was organizing
all activity. Walk started at 9 am from Kids School System.
Mr Kausar Bilal, Dr Aleem Danish and representative of
different NGOs and civil societies joined the walk near Ali
Mosque Jhelum road. City police and traffic police was
present for security and managing the traffic. Different
participants picked up the banners and cards on which
different messages were displayed regarding dengue hazard.
Walk started from Kids School System and it ended at Tehsil
chowk Chakwal. All participants stood up besides the road
and they discussed importance of health & hygiene with
people. Broacher and pamphlets of dengue precautions were
distributed by DEAP and Health department to all
participants as well as to people standing there. All
participants were served with juices and cold drinks at the
end.
Conclusion:
Over all it was a healthy and fruitful activity for creating
awareness regarding dengue fever in people of district
Chakwal. Mr. Atif Abbas thanked all participants and
especially Govt. Officials of different departments for
participating and encouraging the DEAP efforts for creating
awareness of Dengue hazards.
